Massage Treatments

All our massage treatments involve synchronised four-handed massages and last up to two hours, leaving you in a state of total relaxation…  

Abhyanga

This wonderful Ayurvedic therapy consists of a full head and body massage administered by two practitioners working in complete synchronisation on either side of your body. 

Aromatic herbal oils are lovingly applied in a continuous flowing sequence.  The depth, speed and type of oil applied varies according to your Ayurvedic body type and your personal needs and preference.

Vishesh

A deep, invigorating massage with firm, kneading actions to help promote the release of deep-seated imbalances, toxins and impurities. 

It is especially helpful for soothing sore, tired or aching muscles and is generally combined with Svedana to promote its effectiveness.

It’s a unique relaxation experience with two Ayurvedic therapists gently massaging your body with warm aromatic oils.  The effects are hypnotic and any stress, aches, pains, cares and worries are washed away as deep relaxation sets in. Described by a regular client as ' the closed experience to absolute bliss'.

Udvartana

A coarse herbal paste is applied to your body and then massaged by your two practitioners.  It enlivens and energises the body helping promote better digestion, healthier skin and firmer muscle tone. 

It also increases circulation, helping break down fatty deposits and cellulite and is therefore recommended for those wishing to lose weight or detox.  Like Vishesh it is generally combined with Svedana for enhanced results.

Garshan

A unique Ayurveda therapy using raw silk gloves to massage the body, and create friction and static electricity.  This refreshes and stimulates the skin, promoting better circulation and a breakdown of fatty deposits and cellulite. 

Shirodhara

This amazingly relaxing therapy releases stress and tension from the mind and body.  A steady stream of warm, aromatic oil is slowly poured rhythmically across the forehead, calming the mind and soothing the nervous system. 

It induces deep relaxation and feelings of profound happiness and well-being.  Clients have been known to refuse to get up afterwards!  It usually accompanies Abhyanga or Vishesh.

Svedana

This herbal steam treatment allows the body to perspire and release impurities from the skin.  It is excellent for helping soothe painful, sore or aching muscles and joints and for improving the complexion. 

It often accompanies Vishesh and Udvartana treatments to increase their effectiveness.

Marma therapy

An acupressure-type massage which helps bring the mind and body into equilibrium. This simply yet effective therapy effortlessly releases deeper-seated stresses from the subtle energy channels and unblocks long-standing mental and emotional blockages from the nervous system.
