Danny & Carol: your Ayurvedic Consultants at The Private Ayurvedic Retreat

We’d like to introduce ourselves in a little more detail - we’re Danny Cavanagh and Carol Willis, and we founded Ayurveda UK (formally European Ayurveda). Our interest in Ayurveda began in the late 1980's when we first experienced the rejuvenating and revitalising effects of Ayurveda.

In 1993 we trained as Ayurvedic Panchakarma technicians at the Maharishi University of Valkenburg in Holland. We later studied with Dr Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico, Dr David Frawley of the American Institute of Vedic Studies and Atreya Smith of the European Institute of Vedic Studies.

After a brief period working in a conventional health-spa environment we soon realised the importance of placing more emphasis on individual care and attention. With that priority in mind, we set up an intimate private therapy retreat in Staffordshire in 2000, taking only one client at a time and specialising in detoxification, weight loss, stress relief, revitalisation and rejuvenation programmes. 

We also provide an exclusive 'Home Visit' service for select clients in London, Monaco, Tel Aviv, Kiev, Tbilisi, New York and Los Angeles.

Over the last 25 years, we have treated thousands of clients from a diverse range of professional backgrounds, from doctors, nurses, surgeons, business executives and teachers, to Russian oligarchs, pop-stars, supermodels and members of the British Royal Family. We regularly see extraordinary changes to the health, well-being, weight and outlook of our guests due to the power of the programmes we administer.

Our treatment programmes are individually tailored to each client and we endeavour to maintain an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity, and a space of trust, openness and friendliness. Many of our clients return every year, some twice a year.  As we only treat one client per retreat, there are a limited number of spaces available.
